This document is a tool to incorporate in the daily practice of health promoters and assistants or other personnel of the Emberá-Wounnan Comarca community, the institutional model of orientation / counseling in contraception. The Manual highlights the important elements of the Counseling Model in Contraception for the Indigenous Comarcas and Dispersed Rural Areas of Panama, and presents the three strategies of the Model: (1) Counseling in contraception; (2) The group educational action; (3) Intercultural dialogue. Each strategy points out the necessary steps for its application. In addition, the Manual is accompanied by five guides for community staff to use as support. The Manual has instructions for its use. However, it is important to remember that this document does not replace the training of community personnel involved in the implementation of the Model.
