Behavior change communication is an integral component of the promotion of recommended reproductive health services. These activities and materials may include: providing families with information about available reproductive health services and the benefits of using family planning, having group discussions on FP myths, and engaging community leaders to generate support for FP.

Such policies can help create an enabling environment for these services and guide program managers in the development of specific models of implementation. This module includes examples and policy resources from four countries: Mexico, Panama, Guatemala, and El Salvador. The documents include national guidelines for the implementation of reproductive health programs and services.

Additionally, there is a document that summarizes SMI's implementation experience in family planning and provides the basic reproductive health context.

It is important that SRH education for adolescents provide correct and comprehensive information, while developing skills to negotiate sexual behaviors. Educational materials and activities must be creative in the way they reach adolescent populations, creating a positive learning environment. The materials included in this module are a flip chart that describes information on family planning and a game that facilitates learning about SRH.
