The Community Platform, implemented in Chiapas within the Salud Mesoamerica Initiative, has been presented to the Secretariat of Health of Mexico as an example of good practices. The presentation took place last March 27 at the facilities of the National Gender Equality and Reproductive Health Center (Centro Nacional de Equidad de Género y Salud Reproductiva) where the induction course for the position of state parties responsible for maternal care, newborn care and disability prevention and community development.
Naima Jazibi Cárcamo, consultant for the Salud Mesoamérica Inititative, presented the Community Platform implementation model and strategy in Chiapas to the state parties responsible for health. After her intervention, several representatives from other States showed interest in implementing similar intervention strategies to bring the quality health services to rural and indigenous populations.
